FIGURE & FACE: drawing from life and imagination
This three-day workshop focuses on capturing the human figure and portrait through expressive and structured drawing techniques. Working from a clothed model, students will develop their observational skills while also exploring imaginative approaches to figure drawing.
The workshop will cover fundamental techniques such as gestural drawing, block-ins, proportion measurement, and the study of light and form. Students will work with a variety of drawing materials, experimenting with mark-making, tone, and composition to bring their figures to life. Emphasis will be placed on movement, structure, and creative interpretation.
Through demonstrations, one-on-one feedback, and group discussions, students will gain confidence in both realistic and imaginative figure drawing. Whether refining technical skills or pushing creative boundaries, this workshop offers an engaging space to explore the expressive potential of drawing.
This workshop is designed for teens in Yr 9 and above.
All materials will be provided.
